Senior Director/Vice President, Clinical Development

JOB SPECIFICATION
The Position
The Company is a private pharmaceutical company in Seattle and a leader in developing oral isoform-selective PI3K inhibitors for the treatment of patients with cancer and inflammatory diseases. The company is seeking an oncologist to lead the clinical development of its cancer portfolio. This position will be responsible for establishing strategy and executing clinical trials leading to regulatory approval of the compounds in development. This position will report to the Chief Medical Officer.
Principal Responsibilities
- Working with the management team to establish the clinical development strategy
- Lead in the design, protocol development and conduct of clinical trials
- Provide medical leadership of assigned clinical trials, including clinical operations, safety monitoring, data analysis and report writing
- Represent Clinical function on Product Development Teams and work with other functional areas to meet project goals
- Provide clinical sections of regulatory submissions, including INDs, briefing documents, annual reports and NDAs
- Represent the company to clinical investigators and key opinion leaders
- Communicate clinical trial results to internal and external audiences
Position Requirements
- M.D. with subspecialty training in oncology, board certification preferred
- Minimum of 7 years industry experience in oncology drug development, prior registration experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills and sound decision making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with investigators and key opinion leaders
- Ability to work in a team environment according to the company’s values
- Travel required, 10-20% of time
