DIRECTOR/SENIOR MEDICAL DIRECTOR-MEDICAL AFFAIRS

JOB SPECIFICATION
THE POSITION
The Dir/Sr Medical Director reports to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, and will play a pivotal role in the Medical Affairs Department for the Company's products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the VP to plan and implement the launch of the Company's products.
- Play a pivotal role on Product teams and sub-teams providing expertise to all aspects of marketing the drug.
- Member of promotional review and approval committee.
- Design and execute Phase 4 studies to support company's products.
- Oversees training materials and commercial personnel training.
- Provide scientific expertise in support of business development activities as needed.
- Represent the Company in a positive fashion and develop and maintain key relationships with key opinion leaders.
EDUCATION
- MD required; Strong background in Nephrology, Cardiovascular or IM highly desirable.
- Advanced degree(s) must be from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility for certification is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years with direct, industry-related product experience in pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals or biotechnology industries.
- Experience with a small to medium sized biotech strongly preferred.
- Experience developing medical scientific training materials to a sales team.
- Willingness to be a "hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves team member" in a lean organization.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience in presentations to internal and external groups. Strong organizational, interpersonal and computer skills a must.
- Excellent team interaction skills along with demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team and influence the decisions of a team.
